Japanese Whisky Manhattan (aka The Japanese Blossom)
Japanese Whisky Manhattan (aka The Japanese Blossom)
Refined and subtle, the clean taste of the Japanese Whisky plays with St. Germain and bitters for a clean, floral, slightly spiced manhattan.
Servings 1 drink
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Japanese Whisky (I used Nikka Coffey Malt in this instance)
- 1/2 oz St. Germain
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 twist orange
Instructions
- Add whisky, St. Germain, and bitters to a cocktail glass with ice and stir thoroughly.
- Strain into chilled coupe or over a large cube of ice in a rocks glass.
- Garnish with a twist of orange and enjoy!
Notes
I'm not really a manhattan fan but when I was thinking what I wanted to pair with the Japanese whisky for a cocktail (instead of just neat as is often the case) I immediately thought of the subtle flavors and overwhelming aroma of the St. Germain. It made such a delicious combination with a little bitters that I unintentionally made this a Japanese Whisky Manhattan. One of these times I'll make a plum or cherry blossom cordial and try it with that!
Definitely delicious
