Ingredients

Spiced Cranberry Manhattan

  • 2 oz Rye Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz Red Vermouth (Mine was lightly sweet, you’ll want to adjust to about 1/4 oz if yours is sweeter and you don’t like the overall sweet!)
  • 1/2 oz Spiced Cranberry Syrup (see below)
  • 1 Dash Spanish Bitters
  • 3 each Spiced Cocktail Cranberries (see linked recipe)

Spiced Cranberry Syrup

  • 2 cups Unsweetened Cranberry Juice
  • 3/4 c Brown Sugar
  • 1 t Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 t Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 t Ground Cloves

Instructions

Spiced Cranberry Syrup

  • Add cranberry juice to a small pan over medium heat. When the juice comes to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and reduce to about half the volume.
  • Add brown sugar and spices and stir until dissolved. Turn off heat and let cool.
  • When cool enough pour into a mason jar with lid and refrigerate. Can be made ahead and kept for at least a week.

Spiced Cranberry Manhattan

  • Add whiskey, vermouth, spiced cranberry syrup, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
  • Stir until chilled and a bit diluted, about 10 – 15 seconds.
  • Strain into a chilled coupe or other cocktail glass and garnish with a few spiced cocktail cranberries. Enjoy!
