Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bourbon (I used Bulleit)
  • 1 1/2 oz apple cider reduction (4 to 1 reduction that concentrates the sugar and the flavor of the cider! See below for instructions)
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 4 pieces lemon peel (I used a peeler and this is about 4 1/2 inch by 1 inch pieces)
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 2 shakes Ceylon Cinnamon

Instructions

Apple Cider Reduction

  • Take 4 cups of apple cider over medium/medium low heat and reduce by 75% until you have 1 cup left, about 15 – 20 minutes. Let cool and store in refrigerator for up to several days.

Kentucky Cinnamon Cider Cocktail

  • Add all ingredients to cocktail shaker. Muddle thoroughly, add ice and shake for a count of 5 – 10.
  • Strain into a coupe or try a flute for fun. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a dried round of lemon! Enjoy!

Notes

This is a delicious bourbon cider cocktail that is festive in the holiday season… or just any time really. It doesn’t sacrifice anything of a craft cocktail just because it’s got a holiday flavor!
