Roasted Cranberry Manhattan

Roasted Cranberry Manhattan

Orange and cranberry is a classic combination that plays out beautifully in this twist on the manhattan cocktail. Bourbon and orange liqueur infused with roasted cranberries give subtle cranberry flavor and festive color, with a liqueur soaked roasted cranberry instead of a cherry, amazing holiday drink!

Ingredients

Roasted Cranberry Infused Orange Liqueur

  • 1/2 bag fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup Orange Liqueur (I used Cointreau)

Roasted Cranberry Manhattan

  • 1 1/2 oz bourbon (I used Bulleit, many others and/or whiskey's would work here as well)
  • 3/4 oz cranberry infused orange liqueur (from above)
  • 1/4 oz simple syrup (Optional, just enough to bridge the alcohol, if you like it sweet go with 1/2 oz!)
  • 1 dash aromatic bitters

Instructions

Roasted Cranberry Infused Orange Liqueur

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Rinse cranberries.
  • Place cranberries on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove baking sheet from oven and let cool slightly (5 minutes).
  • Add roasted cranberries to a pint mason jar and pour 1 cup of orange liqueur over them. Put on a lid and swirl gently to mix in. Let sit out for 2 hours or so. Can be kept refrigerated for several days.

  • Add bourbon, infused liqueur, simple syrup, and bitters to shaker. Add ice. Shake thoroughly for a count of 10 - 15. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with a boozy roasted cranberry from the mason jar! Enjoy!

Notes

Super simple way to step up your holiday cocktail game, this can all be made ahead and served batch/mason jar style as well! Brilliant mashup of a couple classic combinations (Manhattan cocktail and the cranberry/orange combo), this one will be coming out for Thanksgiving next week... and probably several more times through the new year!
